Cookie Policy
Last updated 29 July 2026
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies PilotWise uses, why, and how you can control them. It is written to match how the platform actually works today. It has not yet been reviewed by a qualified solicitor and should be checked as part of the same pre-launch legal review as our Privacy Policy.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of data a website stores on your device, so it can recognise your browser when you come back or move between pages. Cookies can't run programs or install anything on your device.
The cookies we use
We currently use exactly one category of cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use any analytics, advertising, social media or other third-party tracking cookies.
| Cookie | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-* (authentication cookie, set by Supabase) | Keeps you signed in and identifies your session, so you don't have to log in on every page. | Strictly necessary | Session only by default; if you tick “Remember me” at login, it persists on your device for a longer period so you stay signed in between visits. |
Local storage
Separately from cookies, we use your browser's local storage to remember which airline profiles you've viewed and when, purely so we can show you a “new update” badge on airlines you follow. This information stays on your device, is never sent to our servers, and isn't personal data in any meaningful sense, but we're covering it here since the same transparency principles that apply to cookies apply to any data a website stores on your device.
Why we don't need a cookie consent banner
UK and EU cookie law (PECR / the ePrivacy Directive) only requires consent for cookies that aren't strictly necessary for the service you've asked for, such as analytics or advertising cookies. Because our only cookie is strictly necessary to keep you signed in, a consent banner isn't required for it. If we ever add analytics, advertising or other non-essential cookies, we will introduce a consent banner at that point and update this policy first.
Managing cookies
You can view, block or delete cookies through your browser's settings. Because our only cookie is what keeps you signed in, blocking it means you'll be signed out and asked to log in again each time you visit. There is nothing else to opt out of.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if the cookies we use change. We will update the “last updated” date above, and if we ever introduce cookies that require consent, we will ask for it at that time rather than relying on this notice alone.
